This Month's Headlines:

Make Your Voice Heard!

On October 8, Cary citizens will have the opportunity to play an active role in shaping Cary’s future. It’s no secret that we live in a diverse, thriving community that has become one of the most desirable places to live in America. We’ve accomplished this thanks to thoughtful planning, wise investments, and invaluable input from our citizens.
However, like other thriving communities, it is crucial to continuously look at how we sustain this level of excellence for generations to come. With that in mind, your Cary Town Council recently voted unanimously to give citizens the opportunity to vote on financing up to $112 million for parks and recreation projects and $113 million for transportation projects throughout Cary.

With multiple Triple A ratings, the Town of Cary is in excellent financial health. Even so, financing is necessary for major projects such as these. Voter-approved General Obligation Bonds are the least costly financing option available to the Town. Given the Town’s outstanding credit rating and financial management, we can borrow money at low interest rates and save taxpayers millions of dollars over the repayment period.

Citizens have already played a major role in our future vision with the development of the Imagine Cary Community Plan. The projects included in these bonds were developed with this plan as a guide, and now it’s time for citizens to decide whether to approve them. Early voting begins on September 18 and continues until the general election on October 8. Help shape Cary’s tomorrow!

Fertilizing this Fall?

Smart fertilizing helps keep our lawns lush and our streams healthy. Follow manufacturer guidelines and sweep excess fertilizer off hard surfaces and back on your lawn to keep additional nutrients out of our waterways.

Creepy Contaminants

Candy wrappers and plastic cups and plates are all creepy contaminants in our recycling. Please keep these out of your recycling cart and only include accepted items.
