This is Halloween!

Pumpkin Flotilla
Oct. 26 | 4-7 p.m.
Bond Park Boathouse
Bring your carved pumpkin from 4-5:30 p.m. and watch the pumpkins set sail across Bond Lake at twilight (6:30 p.m.). There will also be food trucks, live music and face painting!
Herbert’s Haunted House

National Pill Take Back
Unused prescription drugs, too often, find their way into the wrong hands. That’s dangerous and often tragic. To help keep your home safe and clean, the Town of Cary will be accepting unused or expired medications at five locations on Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Those locations are as follows:
Cary Police Department - 120 Wilkinson Ave.
Christ the King Lutheran Church - 600 Walnut St.
Walgreens - 1210 Kildaire Farm Road
CVS - 2994 Kildaire Farm Road
Walgreens - 10210 Green Level Church Road

Maynard Water Tank
Starting this fall, the Maynard Water Tank will be refurbished with a coat of paint, as well as some upgrades.
The tank will be covered with a shroud throughout the project but, in keeping with tradition, the senior class will continue to be saluted with a Class of 2019 banner.

Holiday Collection Changes
The week of Nov. 12, garbage, recycling and yard waste collection for all customers will move one day later for Veterans Day. The week of Nov. 19, collection for Thursday customers will move to Friday for Thanksgiving. The Citizen’s Convenience Center is closed Nov. 22.

America Recycles Day Shred
Celebrate America Recycles Day by participating in our free paper shred Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring up to three boxes of paper to 400 James Jackson Ave. No commercial interests, please. Proof of Cary residency is required.

Creepy Contaminants
Candy bags and wrappers are all creepy contaminants in our recycling stream. Only recycle accepted items. Refer to the list on your recycling calendar mailed in October.

Loose Leaves
Starting Nov. 5, we’ll collect loose leaves from your street twice before Christmas at no charge according to the schedule mailed in October. Place leaves along the curb by 7 a.m. the the first day of each collection period for your area. Keep piles out of the street, away from mailboxes and fire hydrants, and off storm drains.
