View and Pay Cary Utility Bills with DigiPay

In an effort to increase government effectiveness and efficiency, we’ve unveiled a unified, online utility bill presentment and payment system, DigiPay.
In addition to viewing monthly utility statements and making single or reoccurring payments, DigiPay gives you the ability to access Aquastar, the web tool to view hourly, daily, weekly and monthly water consumption data. There is no fee to enroll, view bills or complete online transactions.
Upon enrollment, while paperless billing is not a requirement, you’ll have the ability to opt-out of paper bills.

Watch for Me NC

Each year in our state more than 2,400 pedestrians and 960 bicyclists are hit by cars. We’re happy to once again partner with the Watch for Me NC campaign, run by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, to reduce the number of pedestrians and bicyclists hit and hurt in crashes with vehicles.
The Watch for Me NC program involves two key elements: 1) safety and educational messages directed toward drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists; and 2) enforcement efforts by police to crack down on some of the violations of traffic safety laws.
Learn more about the program at www.watchformenc.org. Remember: Same Roads, Same Rights, Same Responsibilities.

Hot Tips: Smoke Alarms Save Lives

National Fire Prevention Week is October 5-11. This is a great time to test whether your smoke alarm will work in an emergency. Emergencies happen without warning, and a properly working smoke alarm can provide you and your family with valuable time to escape a fire.
Test your smoke alarm every month, and change the batteries at least once a year. If your alarm chirps to indicate a low battery, be sure to replace your battery as soon as possible. Most smoke alarms have a 10 year working life. When it’s time to replace your smoke alarm, consider one with a 10 year, non-replaceable lithium battery. That way, you won’t have to remember to replace the battery on a regular basis.
Keep your smoke alarms free of dust by periodically dusting or vacuuming them per manufacturer’s instructions. For the most protection, place smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside every sleeping area and on every floor including basements. Never disable your alarm or intentionally remove the battery.
