Love your pipes, don’t flush wipes

Baby wipes, cleaning wipes, even those labeled flushable, can clog your plumbing. This can lead to sewer backups inside your home or overflows out in our community. Be sure to throw wipes in the trash to help avoid costly repairs and protect the health of our environment.

Loose Leaves

Loose leaves still in your yard can be placed in reusable yard waste containers or paper bags for your weekly yard waste col-lection, or you can take them to the Citizen’s Convenience Center for disposal at no charge. We’ll also collect them by appointment at no charge until March 30; call (919) 469-4090 or visit services.townofcary.org to schedule. Don’t forget, leaves can be great additions to com-post piles.

Protect Your Family from CO

Carbon Monoxide is an invisible killer. It is an odorless, colorless and tasteless gas that could be lurking in your home. Any home that has gas appliances, burns wood for heat or has an attached garage should have at least one working carbon monoxide alarm. These alarms alert residents to dangerous levels of the gas so you and your family can escape to fresh air. Carbon monoxide alarms should be placed on each level of the house and outside of sleeping areas. Consider these alarms just as important to your family’s safety as smoke alarms!
